Privacy Notice

This notice describes information that may be collected when someone uses Brunswick County Released Inmates, how it may be used, and which outside providers may receive it. Using the site means accepting these practices.

Information You Choose to Send

Search entries

A query typed into a sponsored search box is sent directly to the third-party search provider that powers that tool. This site does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider processes the query under its own terms and privacy policy, so do not submit confidential details unless you have reviewed that policy.

Messages

If you send a contact message, we receive the details you provide, such as a name, email address, and message text. The information is kept to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.

Automatically Collected Data

Servers, analytics services, and advertising systems may collect technical information such as an IP address, browser and version, device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, time spent on pages, approximate location, and visit timestamps. This data helps operate the service, measure use, detect abuse, and understand performance.

Cookies and similar tools

Cookies or comparable storage may remember preferences, measure traffic, support advertising, and help outside tools function. Browser controls can block or remove cookies, though parts of the site may then work differently.

How Data Is Used

Collected information may be used to provide and improve pages, route sponsored search requests to the selected partner, answer messages, maintain security, analyze traffic, prevent misuse, support advertising, meet legal duties, and administer partner relationships. It is not used to create an official Brunswick County record. Public records remain with their originating agencies under laws such as North Carolina G.S. 132-1.

Links to Other Services

Links lead to sheriff, court, corrections, federal, notification, and commercial search services. Their data practices are separate from ours. Some advertising partners may track activity across sites on their own systems to select or measure targeted ads. Read each destination's notice before giving it personal information.

Who May Receive Data

Personal information is not sold. It may be shared with search partners handling queries, hosting and security providers, analytics services, advertising networks, and contractors that help operate the site. It may also be disclosed to law enforcement or another authority when required by a valid legal order, or when reasonably needed to protect rights, safety, and system integrity. We do not claim control over data sent directly to an outside provider.

Reasonable Security Measures

Administrative and technical safeguards are used on a best-effort basis. No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure, so absolute protection cannot be promised.

Not for Minors

The site is not directed to people under 18, and we do not knowingly seek personal information from them. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted data may use the Contact Us page to request review.

Your Privacy Choices

Depending on applicable law, a user may ask to access, correct, or delete information supplied directly to us, or may object to certain processing. Browser settings can manage cookies. Requests concerning a third-party search provider must be sent to that provider, and requests for an official government record belong with the agency that holds it.

Policy Revisions

This notice may change as services, providers, or legal duties change. A revised version takes effect when posted on this page with a new effective date.
